C&K has introduced the KSC Tireless Endurance (KSC TE) with ten million cycles at 1.6N, claimed to be the highest in the industry. The company has launched a five million cycle version with higher actuation forces at 2.8N and 4N - again offering the highest lifecycle switches available in a 6mm x 6mm form factor in the industry.

With three choices of actuation forces (1.6N, 2.8N, and 4N), the new switch extends the company's high lifecycle miniature tactile switch product portfolio, it provides design engineers the power to select the ideal switch. Also, by providing far longer lifecycles, the switch helps alleviate the design cycle and outperforms the competition for its size and force range. These excellent tactile switches are perfect for a broad range of exacting applications in the industrial, gaming, elevator, and computer peripherals markets.

"The Tireless Endurance name says it all," said Regis Clement, global product manager at C&K, "It is the combination of a soft actuator and a revised internal structure that enables the KSC TE to provide such high lifecycles and reliability. We are the first to offer this solution in the market with a 6mm x 6mm form factor. This will have a major global impact within the industry."

With ultra-long reliability, there is a reduced requirement for costly maintenance or replacement. The device's compact size of 6.3mm x 6.2mm x 3.5mm provides designers with more room to add extra functionality to their units or decrease their PCB size. The soft actuator provides easier tolerance management with possible pre-load, and at an IP67 rating it gives strong protection against dust and water ingress.
