Skyworks’ SKY66422-11 is the newest addition to its family of compact, high-performance RF front-end modules (FEMs) specially created for LPWAN – supporting LoRa, SigFox and other unlicensed band technologies – as well as high-power Industrial, Scientific, Medical applications operating in the 860-930MHz frequency range.

The device is created for ease of use and maximum flexibility with fully matched 50Ohm TX and RX inputs, and digital controls compatible with 1.6V to 3.6V CMOS levels.

The RF blocks run over a wide supply voltage range from 2.5V to 3.6V, enabling the device to be employed in battery-powered applications over a broad spectrum of the battery discharge curve. The device is packaged in a 16-pin, 3mm x 3mm x 0.75mm MCM package.

This new solution provides improved sensitivity and more than double the operating range versus a standalone SoC. The device needs minimal board space and consumes low power, making it excellent for IoT and industrial platforms including sensors, beacons, thermostats, wireless cameras, smartwatches, medical pendants and smoke and CO detectors.
