Illuminated tact switches provides excellent tactile feedback

CTS Electronic Components 228F/G/H Illuminated Tact Switches, available now from Mouser, provides LED colour selection through the PCB circuit giving flexibility to the end-use product developer. The product series models have 0.5mm actuator travel and are offered in the following compact sizes: 228F series size is 7.4mm x 7mm, 228H series size is 5.2mm x 8mm, and the 228G series size is 5mm x 6mm. The 228F and 228H components include a single LED colour display with a bi-colour option independent of the switching function. The 228G series provides a single LED colour display with colour options. A robust contact structure gives excellent tactile feedback to the user, with a switch life up to 100,000 cycles.

The switches feature surface-mount gull-wing terminal or standard through-hole configurations. They are compatible with IR reflow and manual soldering. The switches are halogen-free, lead-free, and RoHS compliant.

Typical applications include medical, automotive, home health care, audio/video, fitness equipment, white goods, security systems, and servers.
