The series is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 PCs and accessories currently available. The controllers can produce a consistent, industry-leading set of capabilities for connecting computers to video, data, and power. The series offers double the minimum video and data requirements of Thunderbolt 3, supporting two 4K displays or one 8K display. The series offers PCIe at 32Gbps for storage speeds up to 3000MBps. Support for docks with up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports and PC charging on at least one computer port2. Users can wake a computer from sleep by touching the keyboard or mouse when connected to a Thunderbolt dock. The required Intel VT-d-based direct memory access protection assists in preventing physical DMA attacks.
