RS Components has added to the range of Amphenol PowerLok connectors that it provides to customers. The addition of the PowerLok 300 Series completes the available portfolio provided by the company.

The compact, metal-shell series supplies interconnect solutions and signal connections for EV and hybrid transportation applications. Housing up to four signal circuits and four power circuits, the connectors include Amphenol’s RADSOK contact technology. This provides a uniquely designed flat, high conductivity alloy grid to deliver robust, high-density contact to the mating pin. Delivering a smooth, even engagement and force distribution, these connectors provide enhanced durability and contribute to outstanding performance in applications with high levels of vibration.

The series is particularly for applications with cable current ratings of 150A, 200A, 250A or 300A. Models are provided to accommodate corresponding cable sizes varying from 35mm to 95mm. Like all the series connectors, the models offer high cycle durability and come furnished with an automatic secondary lock as standard, which stops unintentional loosening of the contact and further enhances connector reliability.

Providing a choice of straight, keyed or right-angled configurations, plus 360-degree shielding and environmental sealing options, the series has a solution to fit nearly any EV system design need. Connectors can be defined with six or two keys to meet requirements for one, two or three-position operation, and their slimline profile indicates they are particularly ideal for applications where space is at a premium. The connectors are rated IP67 when engaged.
