Vishay Semiconductors VCNL3036X01 High-Resolution Digital Proximity Sensors with I2C Interface, available now from Mouser, integrates a mux and a driver for up to three external IREDs into one small package. The sensors employ the CMOS process to include photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog to digital converting circuits into a single chip.

The Digital Proximity Sensors provide programmable interrupt features of individual high and low thresholds, enabling optimisation of resources and power saving on the microcontroller. The sensors offer an operating voltage of 2.5V to 3.6V.

Typical applications include force feedback applications, and proximity/optical switch for consumer, computing, automotive, and industrial devices.
