Mouser now stocks the new IWR6x mmWave sensors from Texas Instruments. Offering unparalleled levels of integration and on-chip processing ability, the 60GHz-64GHz sensors enable engineers to integrate mmWave technology into a wide range of factory automation, robotics, radar, and building automation designs.

The mmWave sensors are integrated single-chip frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar sensors built on the company’s 45nm RFCMOS process. The sensors provide ultra-high-resolution sensing and can detect humans, objects, and minute motions, including breathing and typing. The sensors provide up to 4GHz of ultra-wide bandwidth, detecting objects up to 16 times more accurately than 24GHz narrowband solutions. The sensor includes a C674x DSP for advanced signal processing.

The sensors provide application-specific algorithms, scalable software, and a number of reference designs, enabling developers to swiftly start producing high-performance sensor solutions. The sensors are optimised for usage in industrial settings, supporting key applications including motion detection, people counting, robotics, vital sign monitoring, and safety guarding. The sensors are also excellent for ultra-accurate, low power, self-monitored industrial radar systems.
