DC-link film capacitors deliver stable capacitance and ESR

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a new series of Automotive Grade DC-Link metallised polypropylene film capacitors optimised for high humidity conditions. The Vishay Roederstein MKP1848H DC-Link is the company's first series of AEC-Q200 qualified DC-Link film capacitors to resist temperature humidity bias (THB) testing — 85C, 85% relative humidity for 1000 hours at rated voltage — with no alteration of its electrical characteristics.

The radial capacitors are created to ensure exceptionally stable capacitance and ESR values over an extended service life under harsh environmental conditions throughout operation. The robust devices are outstanding for output filtering in automotive on and off-board chargers and DC-DC converters; auxiliary power supplies in wind energy generators; power converters for solar farms; welding equipment; industrial power supplies and motor drives; and UPS.

The series capacitors provide rated capacitance from 1µF to 80µF and low ESR down to 3mOhm. The devices provide high ripple current capabilities up to 25.1A and rated voltages of 500VDC, 700VDC, 800VDC, 920VDC, and 1200VDC at +85. The capacitors are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free and Vishay Green.
