The Molex compact Type-C Connectors expanded family, available now from TTI Europe, supports up to 10Gbps speeds and provides robust, reliable connectivity in IoT, wearable device and other high-speed data I/O applications. The company’s USB Type-C connectors employ high-temperature Nylon or Nylon 64 as housing material and a three-tier insert-moulding process to assure high-mating durability and electrical reliability of the connector. The connector’s mating tongue design shields the interconnect from potential damage caused by mishandling, shipment or assembly processes.
The connectors offer metal shielding on all sides with a simple edge-contact beam geometry for the connector shell. The USB 3.1, Type-C plugs and receptacles support 5A current, and USB 2.0, Micro-B IP67-rated waterproof option is available.
Typical areas of use include automotive, consumer, connected home, medical, mobile devices, telecommunications, and industrial applications.
