Automotive grade dual inductor reduces board space demands

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a new Automotive Grade low profile, high current dual inductor in a 2525 case size. Intended to replace the two inductors needed in an automotive Class D audio amplifier with a single device, the Vishay Dale IHLD-2525GG-5A decreases board space demands and component counts while giving improved THD performance across other inductor types.

To offer noise filtering in Class D amplifiers, the AEC-Q200 qualified device comprises of two IHLP inductors with operating temperatures up to +155C in one compact package. The device provides an optimised design that achieves higher quality sound and lower distortion than other solutions while giving low coupling for minimum cross-talk between its integrated inductors.

Intended to perform at higher carrier frequencies up to 2.1MHz, the device produces high efficiency with typical DCR from 7.06mOhm to 154mOhm and a wide range of inductance values from 1µH to 22µH. The device provides rated current to 13A and handles high transient current spikes without saturation. Packaged in a 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that decreases buzz to ultra-low levels, the dual inductor gives high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock.
