ProTek Devices offers a new series of ultra-low capacitance TVS arrays for circuit protection in smartphones, handheld wireless systems, USB interfaces and Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base T applications. The new series of comprises of four new devices.

The GBLCxxHP/CHP series consists of two devices, the GBLC03HP and GBLC03CHP, with a rated stand-off voltages of 3.3V, and the GBLC05HP and GBLC05CHP with a rated stand-off voltages of 5V. They are offered in unidirectional and bidirectional configurations and are rated at 750W for an 8/20 microsecond waveshape. The series provides an ultra-low capacitance of 3pF (typical), and it also gives low leakage current of less than 0.5µA.

This series is compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-2 (ESD): air in the range of 15kV, contact in the range of 8kV and exceeds level 4: handles 20kV contact and 25kV air discharge, and with 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A - 5/50ns; and with 61000-4-5 (surge). Furthermore, it is compatible with ISO 10605 (ESD): 330pF/2k Ohm, in the range of 20kV contact. They can be employed as replacements for MLV (0805) devices. They protect one power or I/O port and have an ESD protection greater than 25kV. The maximum peak current holds at 35A at 8/20µs. The devices also provide a low clamping voltage and are RoHS and REACH compliant.

The devices are provided in a moulded JEDEC SOD-323 package with an approximate weight of only 5mg. They provide lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin - Sn, 100) of 260-270C. Operating and storage temperatures are -55C to 150C. And, their flammability rating is UL 94V-0.
