Mouser is now stocking the i.MX 8QuadMax and 8QuadPlus applications processors from NXP Semiconductors. The multi-core applications processors are excellent for applications such as automotive infotainment, advanced industrial HMI and control, heads-up displays, and machine vision and tracking devices.

The company's applications processors allow fast, multi-OS platform deployment through advanced full-chip hardware virtualisation and domain protection. Based on four Arm Cortex- A53 cores, two Cortex-M4F cores, and one (QuadPlus) or two (QuadMax) Cortex- A72 cores, the highly scalable processors also include a HiFi 4 DSP core for pre- and post-audio processing and two GPUs.

The processors provide high-performance end-to-end vision processing, making them an ideal option for developing advanced vision-based HMI systems, and support up to four 1080p screens of independent content or a single 4K screen. The devices’ hardware-based virtualisation, split GPU and display architecture, and resource partitioning support lower costs and quicker time-to-market than applying hypervisor techniques alone.

Also stocked is the i.MX 8QuadMax Multisensory Enablement Kit, which offers a broad platform for developing and evaluating applications for the embedded automotive and industrial markets. Providing high-level integration to support functions incorporating video, graphics, audio, and voice functions, the CPU Board incorporates all necessary software and drivers to produce and evaluate broad-based applications.
