TE Connectivity's Ultra-Compact, Chlorine-Resistant MS5839-02BA Digital Pressure and Temperature Sensors are 3.3mm x 3.3mm x 2.75mm digital altimeters optimised for applications where chlorine and saline are present. The sensors are now available from Mouser.

The robust, gel-filled design of the sensors facilitates operation in harsh media environments while offering accurate and reliable digital measurements. These MEMS-based sensors provide advanced water resistance, chlorine resistance, shielding, low power consumption, and digital interconnectivity. The board-level design delivers sensing accuracy for both pressure (±0.5mbar) and temperature (±2C) measurements.

The sensors are housed in ceramic and metal package The device works off of a 1.5V to 3.6V supply voltage, with 0.6µA low power (standby ≤0.1µA at +25C) and has a 300mbar to 1200mbar, -20C to +85C operating range. The sensors have a I2C interface.

Typical applications include shallow diving computers, swim watches, fitness trackers, underwater vehicles, diving equipment, and diving computers.
