Texas Instruments UCC21750 Single-Channel Gate Driver is a galvanic isolated gate driver created for SiC MOSFETs and IGBTs up to 2121V DC operating voltage with advanced protection features. It provides best-in-class dynamic performance and robustness. The device has up to ±10A peak source and sink current. The input side of the device is isolated from the output side with SiO2 capacitive isolation technology, supporting up to 1.5kVRMS working voltage and 12.8kVPK surge immunity. It provides longer than 40 years of isolation barrier life, as well as producing low part-to-part skew, and > 150V/ns CMTI.

The device incorporates state-of-art protection features, such as fast overcurrent and short circuit detection, shunt current sensing support, and fault reporting. It also incorporates active miller clamp, and input and output side power supply UVLO to optimise SiC and IGBT switching behaviour and robustness. The isolated analog to the PWM sensor can be employed for easier temperature or voltage sensing, increasing the drivers’ versatility further and simplifying the system design effort, size and cost.

Typical applications include industrial motor drives; server, telecom, and industrial power supplies; UPS; and solar inverters.
