Compact and easy to use programmable DC power supply range

XP Power has a new single-output programmable DC power supply – the PLS600 – that is perfect for employment in an extensive assortment of applications including production, laboratory, and embedded test and measurement. Multiple interfaces including USB, analogue, and LAN, are built-in as standard, improving the flexibility and controllability of the unit.

Measuring only 44mm (1.73") tall and with a footprint of 224mm (8.82") x 262 mm (10.3"), the device occupies very small space in benchtop applications and a 1U 19" rack mounting option accommodates either one or two of these supplies.

There is a total of five units in the range providing DC output voltages of 30V, 50V, 100V, 200V and 400V – all with a 600W power rating. This extended range enables a broad variety of voltage and current ratings to be taken from a single unit, for example, the 30V model supports output currents up to 33A with a maximum power rating of 600W. The units can be run in series and/or parallel, providing for higher voltages (600V) or higher power (2400W) to be produced.

The units provide excellent load and line regulation and are able to be programmed to an accuracy of around 0.1%. Inbuilt 12-bit D/A and A/D converters enable the units to report voltage and current with high degrees of accuracy.

The PSUs are all LXI certified, thereby satisfying interoperability standards for LAN-based instruments.
