Intelliconnect (Europe) Ltd has expanded its range of solderless, field-replaceable connectors to include a version for 0.047" semi-rigid cables. When assembled, semi-rigid cables can be factory formed or routed as needed in situ.

This clamp connector series provide customers with a convenient alternative for terminating the semi-rigid cable without loss in performance or reliability. Other solderless attachment connectors from the company are available for 0.085" and.0.141" cables.

The stainless-steel 0.047", 2.9mm and SMA connectors have been created for applications where durability, reliability, robustness and high-frequency performance are extremely important. Key features comprise field replaceable ability, guaranteed equivalent performance to solder connection, no special tooling needed, and cable retention force similar to soldered versions.

System designers will discover the principal advantages of these solderless connectors are quicker assembly time, repeatability and high performance, and they also offer field replaceable connectivity in the event of wear or damage to the connector.

Roy Philips, managing director of Intelliconnect, comments: “The addition of our new 0.047" semi-rigid cable connector extends the choice of solderless connectors available to our customers and provides a very useful alternative to conventional types for assembling connectors to a wide range of cables with no loss in performance or reliability. Solderless assembly speeds manufacture and facilitate field replacement in the event of wear or damage to the connector."

Typical applications include civil and defence telecommunications, civil and defence aeronautics, defence equipment, space and measurement systems.
