TE Connectivity is helping to solve the problem of high vibration, extreme temperatures, moisture, dust, dirt and debris exposure can wreak havoc on electrical harnesses and heavy machinery in harsh agricultural, mining, and construction conditions with its next-generation two-pin and three-pin connector series: the rear latching snap-cap DT connector with wire seal covers.

“For decades DEUTSCH has offered field-proven, reliable, harsh environment sealed connector systems to industrial equipment and commercial transportation markets,” said Eric Laurer, global senior manager of product management for TE’s Industrial and Commercial Transportation business. “Reliable DT snap cap products are fully interface compatible with existing DT parts in service and are perfect for rugged connections to a wide variety of solenoid, actuator, sensor, and other device applications; helping customers meet safety, productivity, efficiency, and sustainability objectives in an increasingly interconnected world.”

An extension of its existing DT 2/3 Connector Series, the new snap-cap DT Connector offers improved seal performance, interface compatibility with predecessor parts, and a secure seal that is completely serviceable should replacement be required. It is excellent for inline wire-to-wire, wire-to-device, and wire-to-board connectivity.

The snap-in-place rear caps provide wire seal protection in standard and shrink tube adapted configurations for historical DT connector needs as well as IP67 and IP68 ratings, providing a seamless design transition from legacy solutions as well as for new applications.
