New industrial interconnection solutions meet demand for smaller interfaces

RS Components has extended its industrial connector portfolio with two new solutions from Harting, including the recently launched Han 1A connector.

The new Han 1A is a much smaller connector than the Han 3A, needing 30% less space than the manufacturer’s former smallest rectangular industrial connector. The unit has been created to satisfy the need for smaller interfaces employed with the latest power engineering equipment deployed in modern networks.

A key feature of the connector is its versatility, which allows the easy creation of simple interfaces. The device has a system of modular inserts and is built from a lightweight and durable polyamide plastic, making it ideal for an extensive range of applications. Also, the Han 1A employs the simple ‘click and mate’ system and offers a solution for on-site installation with screw contacts or for the pre-assembly of separate units with crimp contacts.

The connector offers an efficient solution for applications including heating and cooling units, fans, lighting systems, control terminals, drives and vibration conveyors. It also satisfies the EN45545-2 standard for fire protection on railway vehicles, making it ideal for use on a mixture of systems including door openers, lighting and screens.

The second new product offered is the over-moulded VarioBoot RJ45 Cat 6A cable assembly for use with 1GB/s to 10GB/s networks. The low-height and compact product offers a high level of versatility by controlling the angle and orientation of the RJ45 connector with no interference or transmission loss and allowing the ideal fit inside a control cabinet. An engineer can make a short pull on the product’s anti-kink sleeve and click the assembly in the desired direction, allowing the Cat 6A line to be routed along another path, for example.
