USB Type-C port controllers comply with the latest standards

Cypress Semiconductor EZ-PD BCR USB Type-C Port Controllers, available now from Mouser, is utilised to aim at electronic devices with legacy barrel connectors up to 100W. The controllers can also use USB micro-B connectors to power rechargeable devices like smart speakers, drones, power tools, and more. The device satisfies the latest USB Type-C and USB PD standards. Convert devices from barrel connector powered to USB-C connector powered using very few external components. No firmware development is needed.

The device is a complete USB Type-C transceiver, USB PD policy manager, load switch controller with a soft start, all termination resistors needed for a USB Type-C port. System-level ESD protection is combined in the device. The controllers are housed in a 24-pin QFN package.
