Connector system provides substantial PCB space savings

Amphenol FCI Minitek Pwr 2.5 Connector Systems, available from Mouser, are created for power applications with a current rating of up to 6.5A per circuit. These connector systems use snap-in header, crimp, and receptacle contacts that are employed to terminate 26AWG-20AWG wires. The connector systems provide high flammability rating, post-plated terminals, and polarised mating geometry that stops mismating. These systems also provide scoop-proof housing to stop the terminals from getting damaged. The connector systems are available in four to 16 circuits in dual row and two to eight circuits in single row.

The system can offer up to 69% PCB space savings and provides UL94V-0 flammability rated LCP material, with 1000MOhm minimum insulation resistance. The connectors offer tin-plated 10mOhm/gold plating 5mOhm maximum contact resistance, and 250VAC (RMS)/DC voltage rating, with a -40C to 105C operating temperature range.

Typical applications include customer premises equipment, interface converter, rack-mount server, patient monitor, and radar equipment.
