Simple and easy to use step-down voltage regulator

Texas Instruments TPS563231 Step-Down Voltage Regulator is an easy-to-use, simple, 3A synchronous step-down converter supplied in a SOT563 package.

The device is optimised to work with a minimum of external component counts and also optimised to deliver low standby current. These SMPS devices employ D-CAP3 mode control, providing a fast transient response. They also support both low-ESR output capacitors such as speciality polymer and ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors with no external compensation components. Through a light load operation, the device operates in PSM, which sustains high efficiency. The device is offered in a six-pin 1.6mm x 1.6mm SOT563 (DRL) package and specified from a –40C to 125C junction temperature.

Typical applications include digital TV power supplies, high definition Blu-ray disc players, networking home terminals, digital set-top box, and surveillance.
