ElectroCraft has expanded its MobilePower traction system offer with the MPW52 and MPW86. The new system provides a high torque-density brushless DC motor with a combined single-stage planetary gearbox and wheel drive assembly.

"The MPW is an application-specific extension to the ElectroCraft MobilePower gearmotor product offering," notes Scott Rohlfs, director of product marketing. "The MPW adds to the breadth of product capability from the MobilePower gearmotor line to include industrial-grade traction systems for automated guided vehicles (AGV) and a wide range of autonomous mobile robots (AMR)."

The system offers one of the most powerful compact wheel drives created. It expands not only on the company's gear motor knowledge base but leverages the high-torque-density that ElectroCraft provides with the RPX Series and other brushless DC motor product lines, which includes the MPW52 motor/hub/wheel with total length 92mm and 150lbs load per wheel and 4N-m continuous torque; and the MPW86 motor/hub/wheel with total length of 130mm and 500lbs load per wheel and 20N-m continuous torque. Wheel diameters offered from 4” to 8” and wheel speeds from 4mph to 14mph.
