RS Components offers the new Minitek Pwr series from Amphenol. The series provides connectors that are robust, compact and versatile, along with high levels of flexibility for power and signal connectivity.

Created to satisfy a broad selection of application demands across many industries and market sectors, the connectors provide a highly flexible solution that incorporates wire-to-board and wire-to-wire configurations and has been created primarily for demanding power applications. The series is offered in 3mm, 4.2mm and 5.7mm options, and provides fully-polarised scoop-proof housings to shield terminals from damage, and a low insertion force, which makes them simple to use.

The 3mm-pitch devices have power contacts that can manage currents of up to 5A per contact and are provided in dual-row configurations with two to 24 circuits and single-row configurations with two to 12 circuits. The 4.2mm-pitch connectors give a current rating up to 9A per contact and are provided in two to 24 circuits in dual-row and three to five circuits in single-row configurations. The 5.7mm-pitch connectors use a special alloy material to allow high-current-rating wire-to-board applications, managing up to 23A per contact; these are offered in a dual-row configuration with two to 24 circuits.

The Pwr 3.0 and 4.2 ranges offer BMI options for vertical through-hole type connections, which indicates secure connection can be assured even if the engineer has a limited view of the socket. The high-current handling Pwr 5.7 range also allows a broad operating temperature, from –40C up to +105C, making it fit for applications which includes telecommunications equipment, HVAC systems, home appliances or patient monitors.
