Mini-sized humidity and temperature probe for rapidly changing environments

Vaisala has launched their HUMICAP Humidity and Temperature Probe HMP9, a very compact smart probe with the excellent response time. It is created for industrial applications, where fast thermal response, measurement performance and long-term stability are crucial.

The novel device combines world leading measurement accuracy and superb thermal response time in a compact package; truly mini-sized probe weighs only a few grams, and the probe head is only 5mm in diameter. The low thermal mass of the probe is claimed to provide superior response time when compared to other capacitive humidity measurement products on the market. The device's compact body not only adapts to the changing environment more quickly, but it also makes it ideal for installation in compact spaces, which enables measurements in locations where a traditional sized probe is unable to fit.

The probe is intended for rapidly changing or condensing environments. The smart probe is optimised for air handling units, dryers, test chambers or other systems and processes where measuring humidity can offer a difference in saving energy or enhancing the product or the process. It also delivers added value to a mixture of applications or locations with temperatures under 120C (248F) that do not require high pressure, but where the accurate humidity and temperature measurement is a crucial factor.
