Bulk ceramic resistors have good performance for high peak power or high-energy pulses

Ohmite 800 and 1000 Series Bulk Ceramic Resistors, available now from Mouser, are tubular, non-inductive, and high-energy resistors that offer good performance for high peak power or high-energy pulses. The bulk construction of these ceramic resistors provide uniform distribution of energy and power through the entire body. These resistors are offered in a broad variety of sizes and terminations from 2" to 24" in length and 0.5" to 2" in diameter. The resistors handle up to 1000W, 165kJ, and 165kV in resistance values from 1Ohm to 1MOhm. The resistors come with three different ceramic materials such as type SP, type AS, and type A. The type SP withstands high operating temperatures and results in high-power dissipation. The type AS withstands high-energy and high voltages. The type BA is designed to reach high resistance values. Ideal applications for Type SP include motor drive circuits, snubber circuits, high-frequency circuits, RF dummy loads, dynamic braking, transformer protection, and harmonic filter; for Type AS include impulse generators, high-voltage circuits, x-ray equipment, high voltage power supplies, laser/imaging equipment, and capacitor charge/discharge; and finally, Type A include bleeder, and capacitor charge/discharge.
