Mouser is stocking the G.hn Wave-2 networking chipset from MaxLinear, which features the G.hn digital baseband and G.hn analog front ends. Providing physical data rates up to 2Gbps across a mixture of physical media, the processors provide reliable connectivity and reduced congestion in smart grid, broadband, industrial, security, smart home, and automotive applications.
The platform allows designers the versatility to combine footprint-compatible components to address multiple G.hn applications. The DBB processors offer high-speed networking solutions with 1Gbps maximum throughput over power lines and 1.7Gbps maximum throughput over coaxial cables and phone lines. The DBB processors offer a G.hn PHY, G.hn DLL, and an embedded CPU for management and control functions. The G.hn AFEs afford up to 2Gbps physical data rates over any wired medium. Housed in a small 4mm x 4mm QFN package, the devices produce programmable transmission and reception gains for each wired medium.
The company’s platform comprises a set of SDKs that allow designers to design custom solutions that satisfy demands such as IPv4/IPv6 support, QoS, and TR-069 management. Engineers can also use the SDKs to produce customised applications that run on a DBB processor’s embedded CPU.
