Mouser now stocks the Maxim Integrated MAXREFDES101 Health Sensor Platform 2.0. The device combines a comprehensive range of Maxim products to produce rapid prototyping, evaluation and development platform for medical applications, giving accurate monitoring of body temperature, heart rate, and ECG.
The platform comprises of a watch enclosure that houses a display, micro board, battery, and sensor board. The micro board combines a Maxim MAX32630 Arm Cortex-M4F microcontroller, dual-mode Bluetooth technology, MAX20303 power-management IC, and a six-axis accelerometer and gyroscope. The platform’s sensor board incorporates a MAX86141 optical sensor, MAX30001 integrated biopotential and bioimpedance AFE, MAX30205 temperature sensor, and MAX32664 biometric sensor hub. The MAX32664 biometric sensor hub highlights embedded firmware and algorithms to simplify the development process, allowing seamless communication with the optical sensors.
Providing immediate basic health sensor functionality, the platform can save months of development for applications such as ECG monitors, sports watches, and healthcare trackers. The real-time data collected by these wearable devices can be obtained from anywhere, enabling health care professionals to evaluate patients and give proactive care.
