Mouser now offers the Microchip AC164160 AVR-IoT WG evaluation board. Designed to exhibit the effectiveness of the company's AVR and PIC microcontrollers in IoT sensor node applications, the AVR-IoT WG board includes smart modules to lessen the burden of complex algorithm implementation by the microcontroller. The board merges an 8-bit megaAVR 0-series microcontroller with a SmartConnect IoT module and a CryptoAuthentication device to lessen overall application complexity and enable engineers to swiftly add Google Cloud connectivity to new and existing devices. The board also includes an embedded programmer and debugger, light and temperature sensors, and onboard battery charging to maintain a broad range of IoT applications. The board’s ATmega4808 microcontroller is based on the flexible and low-power AVR architecture, broadly recognised as an efficient choice for embedded control design. The 20MHz device features a two-cycle hardware multiplier, 48Kbytes of flash, 6Kbytes of SRAM and 256bytes of EEPROM. The Microchip ATWINC1500 Wi-Fi network controller especially optimised for low-power IoT applications. The module provides a total solution for wireless connectivity, supporting the complete TCP/IP stack and automatically authenticating a server’s connection to the Google Cloud.
