Mouser now stocks the SmartBond DA14682 and DA14683 Bluetooth 5 SoCs from Dialog Semiconductor. Part of the highly integrated SmartBond series of power-efficient Bluetooth low energy solutions, the new SoCs provide low power use and heightened security options with industry-leading performance.
The SoCs provide designers with all the benefits of the DA14586 SoC, but with even better flexibility to produce more advanced applications from small footprints and power budgets. As well as Bluetooth 5 support, the two devices provide great memory capacity and differ only in memory configuration. The DA14683 supports unlimited external flash for maximum design flexibility, while the DA14682 includes 8Mbits of onboard flash, which is ideal for applications with tight space constraints. The SoCs also provide a dedicated state-of-the-art hardware crypto engine that achieves fast and low-power processing of cryptographic algorithms, while on-chip key storage and manipulation achieve an ideal balance between security and affordability.
The company's SoCs are ideal for adding Bluetooth low energy mesh networking to asset trackers, cloud-connected products, IoT devices, wearables, HMI devices, and smart home nodes. The devices are supported by DA14683 development kits and the company's SmartSnippets software to aid engineers to optimise software for power consumption.
