High accuracy replacement temperature sensor for multiple applications

25-07-2018 | Texas Instruments | Test & Measurement

The TMP1075 is a lower power, higher accuracy replacement to the industry standard LM75 and TMP75 digital temperature sensors from Texas Instruments. Offered in SOIC-8 and VSSOP-8 packages, the device provides pin to pin and software unity to quickly upgrade any present xx75 design. An extra new package with the device is 2mm x 2mm DFN lessening the PCB footprint by 79% in comparison to a SOIC package. The device delivers 30% increase in accuracy over standard xx75 temperature sensors and provides an on-chip 12-bit ADC giving a temperature resolution of 0.0625C. The device is compatible with two-wire SMBus and I2C interfaces, supporting up to 32 devices address and offers SMBus Reset and Alert function. The devices are defined for operation over a temperature range of -55C to +125C. These sensors are ideal for temperature measurement in a mixture of communication, computer, consumer, environmental, industrial, and instrumentation applications.
