Advantech has launched what is claimed to be the smallest Ethernet switch. At just 8cm high the EKI-2525LI Ethernet switch is aimed at applications where space is a crucial issue for users. The device is an unmanaged five-port Ethernet switch in an ultra-small enclosure which fits into the palm of a hand, making it the perfect solution for circumstances with limited space, such as cabinets, electronic control panels, and high-density industrial plants. The device can also be fitted into any already-wired electronic cabinets, racks or shelves where extra connectivity and communication services are required but space is limited. Also, the switch can serve as an embedded device in any functioning equipment, such as kiosk, automated guided vehicles, and CNC machines, therefore ensuring smooth data transmission between embedded devices and promoting seamless information communication.
