Ultra-low ESR polymer capacitors offer improved frequency performance

20-06-2018 | TTI Europe | Passives

Vishay has extended its line of Polymer Tantalum Capacitors with ESR levels of less than 10mOhms. These devices are available now from TTI Europe. These advanced capacitors provide reduced circuit losses, improved frequency performance, and greater ripple handling ability. They are excellent for use in output filtering in low-noise power supplies or microprocessor decoupling applications. The low ESR also brings good noise suppression and transient response and, unlike MLCC polymer, offers stable capacitance over the full voltage range and operational temperature. Unlike aluminum capacitors, these capacitors do not lose capacitance over their useful life. Polymer tantalum also do not emit piezo-electric noise as seen with MLCC.
