Bel Fuse-Circuit Protection has a new 0678 Series of surface mount fuses, which are offered in D (high AC voltage rating) and H (enhanced breaking capacity) for AC and DC high amp and high interrupting rating applications, including blade computing and blade servers. The 0678H Series, 500mA through 40A, provides high-amp circuit protection and a compact (9.8mm x 3.05mm x 3.05mm) surface-mount form factor to conserve board space. Also, the Series allows blade servers to work at higher power (125VDC rating) and combines high melting I²t, which stops nuisance tripping created by transient surge during blade server hot swapping. The fast-acting 0678D Series has a higher voltage rating at 350VAC and ultra-high interrupting ratings (up to 2000A at 125VDC). Other features comprise current ratings from 500mA to 5A, broad operating temperature range from -55C to 125C, tape and reel for the auto-insert SMD process, RoHS compliance (with exemption 7a), compatibility with the 260C, IR Pb-free solder process and are Halogen Free (MSL=1). Both series of fuses are perfect for customer applications, including high-end blade servers, PC servers, datacom and telecom equipment, base stations, office electronic equipment, voltage regulator modules, industrial or medical equipment, power supplies, PoE and PoE+, DC-DC conversion and mass storage systems. The fuses have been tested and certified and carry the cURus mark for both the US and Canada.
