GaAs converters provide high-quality up/down conversion for data transmission

Mouser now stocks Analog Devices ADMV10x Converters. Part of ADI’s latest series of RF up/down converters, these MMIC are manufactured using GaAs and provide creators with a high-quality and high performance product in a small, convenient package for a mixture of audio and video data transmission applications. The converters use an I/Q mixer topology to decrease the demand for unwanted sideband filtering. The series includes the ADMV1009, the ADMV1010, the ADMV1011 and the ADMV1012. The ADMV1009 is a single sideband (SSB) I/Q upconverter optimised for point-to-point microwave radio designs operating in the 12.7GHz to 15.4GHz frequency range. The device produces 21dB of conversion gain with 20dB of image rejection, and its upconversion requires only a 180-degree balun to choose the required sideband. This series of converters are now available in a compact, thermally enhanced 4.9mm x 4.9mm LCC package. The devices are perfectly suited for RF applications including satellite communications, radar, electronic defence systems, and point-to-point radios.
