DC-DC converters offer reinforced isolation for medical applications

TRACO Power TIM 2 and TIM 2SM Series DC/DC Converters, available now from Mouser, are fully regulated 2W high-performance DC-DC converters with a reinforced 5000VACrms isolation for medical applications. The reinforced I/O-isolation system complies with the medical safety requirements for 2 × MOPP according to IEC/EN/ES 60601-1 3rd edition. These converters feature less than 2µA leakage current and are designed to insulate electrical equipment from the applied parts to the patient (BF classification). The converters operate within the extended –40C to 95C temperature range. These converters are available in compact footprint measuring only 0.95" x 0.57" x 0.40" and either a DIP-16 or SMD package. The converters are suitable for B or BF rated medical equipment, industrial control equipment, transportation systems, measurement equipment, and some IGBT driver applications.
