Available now from Mouser, Bourns SMxJ-Q TVS diodes are designed for surge and ESD protection applications. The diodes provide a choice of working peak reverse voltage from 12V up to 58V. Fast response times are typically less than 1.0 picosecond from 0V to breakdown voltage.
The series features a 400W power dissipation, a 40A peak forward surge current and is provided in a compact DO-214AC (SMA) size format. Packaged in a DO-214AA (SMB) size, the devices offer a 600W power dissipation and a 100A peak forward surge current. The components are provided in a compact DO-214AB (SMC) size format, offering a 1500W minimum peak pulse power dissipation, and 200A peak forward surge current.
These diodes conform to JEDEC standards, are easy to handle with standard pick and place equipment, and the flat configuration minimises roll away.
Typical applications include protection of power buses; protection of I/O interfaces; overvoltage transient protection; telecoms; and automotive applications.
