Now available from Mouser, the Texas Instruments MSP430FR263x/MSP430FR253x Ultra-Low-Power MCUs are FRAM-based ultra-low-power MSP MCU that highlight CapTIvate touch technology. These are created for buttons, wheels (BSW), sliders, and proximity applications. The technology offers what is claimed to be the highest resolution capacitive-touch solution on the market with excellent reliability and noise immunity at the lowest power. The technology supports concurrent self-capacitance and mutual-capacitance electrodes on the same configuration for maximum flexibility. Using the CapTIvate Design Center, engineers can simply develop BSW applications with an easy-to-use GUI.
These low-power MCUs are made up of many devices that offer different sets of peripherals targeted for different applications. The architecture, combined with comprehensive low-power modes, is optimised to deliver extended battery life in portable measurement applications. The MCU features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generators that contribute to maximum code efficiency. The DCO enables the MCU to wake up from low-power modes to active mode typically in less than 10µs.
