Synchronous step-down voltage regulator provides fast transient response

The Texas Instruments TPS565208 is a simple, easy-to-use, 5A synchronous step-down converter in SOT23 package. The device is optimized to operate with minimum external component count and also optimized to achieve low standby current. This SMPS device employs D-CAP2 mode control, which provides fast transient response and requires no external compensation components. D-CAP2 also allows the use of low-ESR specialty polymer capacitors and ceramic capacitors. The device is available in a six-pin 1.6mm × 2.9mm SOT (DDC) package and operates over a –40C to 125C junction temperature range.
