Smaller, smarter motor drive systems for body electronics

24-10-2017 | Texas Instruments | Power

The DRV870x-Q1 family of brushed DC smart gate drivers, from Texas Instruments, provide programmable gate current, extended gate drive protection and detailed fault reporting. The devices integrate up to 16 passive components, shrinking board size while driving high performance in applications like window lifts, sunroofs and power seat modules. The family of devices drives both high-side and low-side FETs with a 10.5V VGS gate drive. The gate-drive current for all external FETs is configurable with a single external resistor or through the SPI. A low-power sleep mode is provided which shuts down internal circuitry to achieve a very-low quiescent-current draw.
