New Yorker Electronics has expanded its line of inductors with the introduction of the Vishay Dale IHLD dual inductor Series in both the 3232 and 4032 case sizes. The automotive-grade low-profile, high-current dual inductor includes two inductors in one package (Vishay 2016 Super 12). This optimal design realizes high quality sound and low distortion as well as low decoupling for minimal cross-talk between inductors. The series is AEC-Q200 qualified and is available in four inductance values: 10µH, 15µH, 22µH and 33µH. The Vishay IHLD series provides low-profile, high-current dual inductors the either the 4032 or 3232 cases. The 3232 case is 9.75mm by 8.68mm and is 9.14mm high while the 4032 case, the first in the series, is 11.89mm by 11.2mm and is 8.69mm high. Both devices deliver a high operating temperature range to +155C and the automotive-grade IHLD-3232HB-5A and IHLD-4032KB-5A combines two inductors in one package. The series is optimized for automotive and commercial class D amplifier circuits, where the device reduces board space requirements and offers improved performance over multiple inductors. The IHLD-3232HB-5A is designed for excellent inductance stability over temperature and DC current, providing high-quality sound and low harmonic distortion due to linear saturation performance. The IHLD-4032KB-5A’s optimal design produces high-quality sound, low distortion, and low coupling for minimal cross-talk between inductors. With the 3232, the AEC-Q200-qualified inductor pair offers maximum DCR from 29.2mohm to 159.43mohm, inductance from 5µH to 33µH, and rated current to 6A. Other values are available upon request. In the 4032, it offers maximum DCR from 32.6mohm to 107mO, inductance from 10µH to 33µH, rated current to 5.6A, and a frequency range up to 1MHz. The device handles high transient current spikes without saturation and has excellent temperature stability for inductance and saturation over its operating range. Manufactured using a 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction package, both devices possess high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock and vibration, says the company. Applications include automotive / commercial Class-D amplifier circuits, differential, single-ended and DC-DC converter applications.
