Synchronous buck regulator features forced PWM and external clock synchronisation

19-07-2016 | Mouser Electronics | Power

Fairchild FAN53600/10 synchronous buck regulator, available from Mouser, is a 3MHz step-down switching voltage regulator with a peak efficiency of 97%. This regulator is available in 600mA or 1A options and delivers a fixed output from an input voltage supply of 2.3V to 5.5V. The device regulator reduces the value of external components to 1µH for the output inductor and 10µF for the output capacitor. This regulator operates the device in the power save mode at moderate and light loads and automatically switches to fixed frequency control at higher loads. The regulator is available in 6-bump, 0.4mm pitch, and wafer-level chip-scale package. Features include forced PWM and external clock synchronisation, input under-voltage lockout, thermal shutdown, and overload protection. Applications include 3G, 4G, WiFi, WiMAX, and WiBro data cards, tablets, DSC, DVC, Netbooks, and Ultra-Mobile PCs.
