Sunpower has launched the HLG-320H-C series of LED drivers, designed for large-scale lighting systems requiring high voltage with high power. Rated at 320W, these products are the latest, highest power additions to the company’s Mean Well HLG-C family of industry-leading constant-current, high voltage LED driver solutions; the 70W, 90W, 150W, 200W and 250W products are already well-established within the LED lighting market. The series answers the growing demand from LED lighting applications using single series-connected strings of LEDs that require high-voltage power supplies. The HLG-320H-C series maintains the HLG-C family’s high performance and reliability standards, and offers a 7-year warranty. Different models within the series are available, with a choice of outputs ranging from 700mA to 3500mA. Models of all output current ratings offering further choices related to IP67 or IP65 ingress protection ratings, output current adjustment with a built-in potentiometer, 3 in 1 dimming function (0-10V, 10V PWM or resistance), DALI control, and smart timer dimming function are available. The series also accepts high input voltages up to 305VAC or 431VDC. The products minimise current load and power consumption with a built-in active PFC function and high efficiency up to 94%. Rugged environmental performance is underwritten not only by elevated IP ratings but also by an operating temperature range of -40C to +85C (case temperature), with free air convection cooling. Protection from short-circuit, overvoltage and over-temperature conditions is provided. The metal-cased units comply with EN61000-3-2 Class C (=50% load) harmonic current limits and carry UL/CUL/ENEC/CB/CE approvals. The type HL devices are suitable for use within Class 1, Division 2 hazardous (classified) location luminaires. “These new high-power additions to the HLG-C family significantly enhance our existing offering to large-scale lighting designers and installers” comments Andy Wall, CEO of Sunpower UK, “and the products’ rugged construction, environmental ratings and certifications allow us to cater for outdoor as well as indoor installations. Applications include LED street lighting and LED harbour lighting, also LED lighting for greenhouses, high bays and many other demanding and large area environments.”
