Available from Mouser, TE Connectivity 400R Rail Wire & Cable is a USA rail-approved, limited fire hazard wire and cable series. They comply with the NFPA 130-2010 standard, meaning that the wire is approved for use on most USA rail projects. This rail wire and cable series features polymer and cross linking technology. The dual wall jacket insulation of the series is light weight and thin-walled, leading to reduced bundle volume and total weight. It is about 30% lighter than conventional thick-walled wire, providing the end user with significant energy savings. It saves 50% in wire bulk, leaving more room for train designers, builders, and passengers. This series complies with USA rail standards NFPA 130 and BSS 7238 and 7239 for smoke and toxicity, meaning it is suitable for passager trains close to passengers.
