Selection of compensated, amplified force sensors with analog and digital outputs

Stocked by Farnell element14, Honeywell’s FSA sensor series utilise an on-board application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) to provide fully calibrated temperature compensation for sensor offset, temperature effects, sensitivity and nonlinearity. A piezoresistive-based force sensor series, they offer digital output and radiometric analog to read force over the specified full scale force span and temperature range, with direct mechanical couplings for quick and simple interface with the sensor, repeatable performance and a reliable mechanical interface to the application. Due to their highly flexible design, the series provides multiple standard configurations over a wide operating temperature range, making them suitable for an extensive variety of medical and industrial applications, including ambulatory non-invasive pump pressure, infusion pumps, kidney dialysis machines, load and compression sensing and variable tension control.
