Driver delivers accurate constant current for MR16 and similar LED lamps

Delivering an accurate, constant current for MR16 and similar LED lamps, Mouser now stocks the Diodes Incorporated AL8821 boost LED driver. A proprietary control scheme ensures the LED driver is compatible with many commonly used electronic transformers. Also, it provides designs with a high power factor (PF) of >0.9 and low total harmonic distortion (THD) of <30%. The design allows the use of a small size inductor with an operation frequency up to 1MHz. Available in the of SO-8EP package, the AL8821 offers small thermal resistance, and can be used for a wide range of output power. Applications include non-dimmable MR16 lamps, dimmable MR16 lamps and general illumination lamps.
