Compact DC relay for 800VDC systems

30-09-2025 | Rutronik | Power

Rutronik now offers the G9JH-1-E DC relay from Omron. Currently the smallest relay in the industry, weighing only 36g, this 800VDC relay has been specifically designed for pre-charge applications and is employed, among other things, as an inrush current limiter for main relays. The relay withstands at least 100,000 switching operations under a capacitive load of 800VDC, with inrush currents of up to 30A, and is specified for operating temperatures ranging from -40C to +85C. Thanks to its low contact resistance of maximum 100mΩ, the robust component features very low power dissipation. It also delivers shock resistance of up to 490m/s² and withstands impulse voltage of up to 4,500V. It is ideal for applications in energy storage or EV charging systems.

Both the operating and release times of the relay are just 30ms. The high dielectric strength (2,500VAC/min between contacts of the same polarity, as well as between coil and contact) and the high insulation resistance (1,000mΩ between coil and contact, as well as between contacts of the same polarity) further enhance efficiency and durability. At 15A, the contact voltage drop is only 0.2V (max.).
