Diodes Incorporated AL5871Q 55V Linear LED Driver, available now from Mouser, is an automotive-grade single-channel linear LED driver with PWM and analog dimming control. This LED driver can drive up to 750mA, and the LED current is controlled by the low-power reference resistor connected to the REF pin.

The linear LED driver regulates LED current accurately up to ±4%, with exceptional PWM and analog dimming performance. A standby mode is automatically triggered to conserve power if the device detects no PWM signal.

This linear LED driver monitors the temperature and lowers the LED current if the chip temperature exceeds the threshold temperature. The input UVLO, LED string open/short protection, and Over-Temperature Protection (OTP) are designed for automotive applications to improve system robustness. The FAULTB pin is pulled low if any protection is triggered.

The device is available in a TSSOP-16EP (Type DX) package and delivers constant current for a single LED string with one fail-all function.

Typical applications include automotive exterior lighting – blind-spot detection indicators, charging inlets, and door handles; rear lamps – centre high-mounted stop lamps, and side markers; automotive interior lighting – dome light, and reading lamps.
