Emergency stop switch offers reliable and flexible protection of sensitive electronics

Foremost Electronics now offers the Rack Safety Plus from nVent. The 19” 3U power distribution unit provides AC mains power and 24VDC power to electrical or electronic devices as a central power switch with an emergency stop function with the safety relay fulfilling the requirements of EN 60947-5-1 and EN 60204-1 in applications with E-STOP push buttons.

The switch is ideal for 19” test benches in areas, including test and inspection equipment, systems and control monitoring, prototype test and development, EV powertrain test, real-time simulation, high-current and high-voltage power units, hardware-in-the-loop test, load simulator for EVs, battery equipment test cabinet, power test equipment and more.

Standard features comprise a 19” 3U aluminium subrack, main switch, mains fuses, circuit breaker panel, emergency stop system, status LEDs for phase presence and emergency stop and on/off switch for switched outputs.

Based on a modular concept, 300,000 modification options are obtainable to users who can select a standard configuration or quickly and effortlessly create their own from predefined components. These include a selection of the power input, power output and additional features such as a surge arrester or EMC filter based on system infrastructure.

Standard specifications include 400V three-phase or 230V one-phase mains input with mains fuses; AC outputs with different connector types, switched by ON/OFF switch; and permanent AC Outputs (service functions). All outputs are protected by circuit breakers. It is CE and UL certified, also for modifications.
