SBG Systems has released the Pulse-40 Inertial Measurement Unit. This tactical-grade IMU provides unmatched performance in harsh conditions in a miniaturised size for applications where precision and robustness are crucial in all conditions. The all-new product offers the best SWAP-C in its category.

The device provides six degrees of freedom, tactical grade IMU and integrates cutting edge MEMS three-axis accelerometers and gyroscopes in a unique redundant design that minimises the system size while pushing performance level to its maximum. The performance specifications offer excellent gyro and accelerometer bias instability of 0.8-degrees/h and 6µg, respectively, allowing long-dead reckoning and maintaining superior heading performance.

The device has been designed from the ground up with reliability in mind. Thanks to a drastic selection of sensors featuring extremely low VRE, the device can sustain high vibration environments, up to 10g RMS. The embedded Continuous Built-In-Test ensures data reliability during operation, which is facilitated by our redundant sensor integration. This functionality is a key parameter for critical applications. The device needs no periodic maintenance. Indeed, an intensive qualification process, including accelerated ageing, guarantees that the sensor behaviour is stable over time. The device is delivered with a two-year warranty.
