RF interconnect solution series expands with thread-in configurations

Amphenol RF has announced the expansion of its HD-EFI product line, created to meet the demand for a compact RF interconnect solution. The latest addition to the series comprises panel mount receptacle jacks, a common component in wireless infrastructure filters. These jacks feature thread-in mounting and post contacts for simple installation into wireless filters, amplifiers and distributed antenna systems.

The thread-in connectors are produced with white bronze plating to increase low PIM performance and set them apart from the current options. These connectors are offered as straight panel mounting receptacle jacks in smooth bore and limited detent interfaces. These 50Ohm connectors are created for crash-proof mating, accomplished by utilising a conical interface and unique plug design, and give excellent electrical performance through 6GHz, along with all the current benefits of this product line.

The product series is a micro-miniature interface that allows large board tolerance stack-ups, blind mating and multiple RF lines. The unique three-piece mating system employs a PCB connector joined by a floating bullet adapter in between, which allows for 1.4mm of axial float and 1.4mm of radial float with an ample maximum float angle of 5 degrees. In addition to the thread-in connectors, multiple PCB and cable-mount connector configurations are offered.
